Georges Naassan - New York, NY

Georges Naasan has been dancing tango since 2002. His journey debuted in Lebanon, at a time where there was no tango community or milongas to attend. He took classes with traveling teachers and taught what he learned at the American University of Beirut. Along with a few friends, he founded the first milonga in Beirut and ran it for a few years before he moved to the United States in 2007. He continued to develop his tango skills with various teachers that travelled to Cleveland and later to the Bay Area. In the summer of 2014, he was the recipient of the gold medal in Argentine Tango at the Gay Games. He started DJing in 2015, and became one of the bay area's prominent local DJs. He has travelled for DJing in various US cities including San Diego, LA, and New York. He was invited to DJ at the Beirut Tango Marathon, Portland Tango Festival and Tucson Tango Festival, among others. Georges moved to New York City at the end of 2019. He has learned much of his tango dancing and DJing skills from various mentors that he met along his journey and to whom he is ever grateful.

Ramu Pyreddy - Washington, DC

Ramu fell in love with tango music in 1999 and started dancing in 2000. To share that love and budding passion, in 2000, he started the Michigan Argentine Tango Club at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. 26 years later, he still remains deeply in love (if anything it has only grown stronger). Along the way, he has become one of the most knowledgeable and sought after tango DJ's in the US. He has DJd at countless events - milongas, festivals and marathons - all over the US, in Argentina, Australia, Canada, and India. For the last 15+ years, he has been the host and resident DJ at Milonga Zandunga, one of DC's popular weekly milongas, known for it's outstanding music. As a DJ, Ramu plays mostly music from the Golden Age and has a strong preference for the Big Four Orchestras.

Robin Thomas - New York, NY

When Robin came back from his first trip to Buenos Aires 26 years ago, he realized that if he wanted to continue to dance tango every night, he would have to find a way to attend milongas for free. At the time, the concept of a tango DJ barely existed. Organizer's would put on a CD, and often it would repeat to span the length of the milonga. Robin wanted to play music as he had heard it in Buenos Aires: in tandas of tango, vals, and milonga with cortinas in between. He began to DJ doing exactly that, despite being told not to play cortinas as people would dance to them. Initially some people did dance to the cortinas, but Robin persisted until this format became the standard. Over the next 10 years, he was invited to DJ in D.C., L.A., Denver, Portland, Miami, and some of the biggest festivals in North America, as well as, Edinburgh, Amsterdam, Berlin, Seoul, Shanghai, and Buenos Aires.

Sabah Chammas - San Diego, CA

Sabah got addicted to Tango in the late nineties. It started with dancing and now it includes being a DJ.

"Tango music occupies my thoughts and energizes my spirit and I am in constant search for good music. Although I try to vary the music I play, please feel free to consider me old fashioned as I love Golden age music. The emotional impact of the music is what I look for in addition to the musicality."

Sofia Tikhovidova - Albuquerque, NM

DJ Marfushka - While most toddlers were focused on crawling, Sofia was already intensely practicing her cabaceo, and breaking in her first pair of high heels by the age of two. She brings her life long love of tango and her passion for the music to all of her sets; your feet won't know whether to beg for mercy or just beg for more.

As a DJ, Sofia loves to incorporate contrast, while still embracing a delicate flow of energy that inspires warm embraces, playful movements, and endless possibilities; keeping you on your toes... literally. Her approach to DJing focuses on adapting to the crowd and tailoring her sets to make the floor come to life, in that unique shared moment.

Recently, she has DJ'd at the Gavito Tango Festival, Albuquerque Tango Festival, Tree City Tango Festival, Boston Tango Marathon, and the 2025 Austin Tango Festival.

Viva Delorme - Montréal, Canada

Viva began dancing both roles in 2010. She was a pioneer figure in the Montreal Queer Tango community and instrumental in its development, co-organizing classes, as well as the Montreal International Queer Tango Festival.

In 2018, Viva began DJing as a way to contribute to the community and to deepen her own understanding of the dance. Viva is one of the "house" DJs at Studio Tango Montreal, and sometimes DJs at special local events. She has been invited to DJ at numerous international QT festivals (Buenos Aires, Berlin, NYC, Miami, Philadelphia) and also at Abrazo and Bailongo in Montréal and at La Entrega in NJ.
