Our experience from Tango Holiday made us realize that the longer the duration of the event, the more relaxed and enjoyable the event becomes. So we moved to a venue and a date on the calendar that allows for that.
Some of the things that Marathon Z is known for, will remain the same:
Mainly because of the size of the venue and the table/seating arrangements.
We want all the attendees to have a good time - both on and off the floor. So we have set a few guidelines for ourselves to make it easy for dance invitations and to relax between dances:
Yes. We will also strive for a good mix of local and non-local dancers from all over.
No. To ensure role-balance and to not exceed venue capacity, no walk-ins will be allowed.
Only exception: Walk-ins are welcome for the after-party on Tuesday night.
No. Registration is an all or nothing pass.
Marathon Z pass includes admission to all events and dancing over 5 days (including the after-party).
We will provide catered lunches on Saturday, Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday. Join us and your fellow dancers in the communal meal for some off-the-floor camaraderie.
And we will provide water, hot tea, coffee (espresso & regular) and plenty of snacks - sweet & savory, healthy & decadent - throughout the marathon. Anything else, feel free to BYO.
Yes. Colvin Run Dance Hall has excellent air conditioning and should keep the capacity crowd comfortably dancing.
$250.00 USD
We have a very reasonable cancellation policy - You can cancel and get a full refund up to 3 weeks before the start of the event. You may cancel your registration for any reason before 11:59 PM EST on Friday, June 9, 2023 for a full refund (minus $25 USD servicing fees). No refunds after June 9, 2023.
No. Our vision is to gather a diverse mix of dancers (both local and beyond). And given the small size of the event, we are unable to offer open registration.
We plan on offering open registration for Tango Holiday (December 26, 2023 - January 02, 2024).
Please submit your details. If we are able to accommodate you, you will get further instructions for registration and payment.
Like in the years past, Jonathan Han designed the logo and banner this year too. This year's logo symbolizes a couple in embrace with an hourglass shape to remind us of the passing of time. How each moment is unique and to never return.
Our logo in the past was inspired by a 45 rpm adapter. If you are old enough to remember, you would have gotten it right away :-). If not, you can read about it.
